  • RMR vs Calories Burned

I'm hoping someone has some experience with this!

I have not lost any weight in 3 weeks - could be a plateau. My resting metabolic rate (RMR) is 2,265. So, I need 2,265 calories to maintain my current weight. In order to reach my goal weight, I need a caloric deficit of 875 calories. That leaves me with 1,390 calories. There's no way eating that amount would satisfy me so I try to eat 1,590 and burn off around 200.

Today I decided to crunch some numbers. Going back in my food and exercise diary, I have discovered that I am actually below the 1,390 mark - by 200 to 300 calories on average! Could this be causing my stall? Do I make sense?

Thanks for any advice! - Jen

How much fat are you eating? How much water are you drinking? How many hours of sleep are you getting each night? All three of those things can affect loss. People will peep in with a lot more knowlege than I but those three things are very important. Plus, technically it isn't a stall until 4 weeks. You still have a week to WOOSH lol. You body may just be resting and reajusting have you taken measurements? Sometimes they are going down even when weight isn't.

My diet is right in step, plenty of water, no problem with sleep, exercise 6 days a week. I'm only 2 days away from 4 weeks ("official" plateau). No measurements. I go by weight and how my clothes feel. I hope I'm just "resting"! Thanks!
