For the first time ever I found Stevia at a regular grocery store chain.. (Albertson's in DFW). I hope this trend continues and doesn't go the way of my South Beach steak sauce!

Thats good news! It's very popular here, even Walmart sells it ..usually on the shelves with the suppliments and vitamins.

We used to get Carb Options steak sauce here..they stopped selling the whole line a couple of years ago. I miss it terribly!

yes their products were awesome..i thought you still had them in the US? we lost them here when the gov't banned the words 'low carb' from labelling (but not 'low fat' long story) .

Anyway, keep your eye out for Stevia in the vitamins/suppliments shelves of the stores...now that I think about it, most of our larger grocery stores and discount stores sell it with the vitamins rather than with the sweeteners. It may have been there all along and you didn't realize! I buy a brand that comes as a powder in a bottle thats about the size of a vitamin bottle..so it would be easy to over look!

Yes, Chapmans actually makes a really good one They also make fudgsicles, that are really good too. I buy them once or twice a year as a treat, I have to avoid the ice cream though as i have portion control issues with it and find the fudgsicles easier. I have found it at most grocery stores (though mot sure about independant, we don't have one nearby) I am also in Ontario.

My favourite though is one made by Toffutti. They're called 'Horray Horray' they're dairy free and made with soy. Even my husband and stepdaughter have no idea that these aren't real ice cream bars. Their biggest downfall is they have nutrisweet in them (as well as sugar alcohols) http://www.tofutti.com/ff-s-hh.shtml

ooh those do look good. I'll have to look for them when I'm in the right rung. Hopefully it will be summertime by then Weird though that ice cream can still be labeled low carb!!

Independent is just a branch off of Zehrs.

Actually it's not labelled 'low carb' just 'sugar free' (both the chapmans and tofutti) you'll need to do some math to figure the carbs out. I think they're around 4 or 6 each bar after you minus sa's. The ice cream is a bit higher because of milk ingredients.
