Hey everyone. I know this should probably be in the pregnancy section but its kinda bare there so Im hoping I'll get a quicker response here!! My husband and I have been trying to conceive for a year + now with no luck, I lost 30 lbs on atkins *woot* and doing great but we just started infertility treatments (clomid, for anyone who knows what it is) and was really curious as to what I should do in this area, should I go ahead and start the maintenance phase? The other thing is i kinda cheated 5 days back .. restarted and doing fine.. but know im not to the end of the 2 weeks induction but I really dont want to risk getting pregnant and being anywhere close to a dangerous "amount" of carbs (Ive read everywhere that they advise you to switch to maint) so just wanted yalls thoughts on the issue.. any advice would be wonderful!! Thanks yall lyn.

Re: TTC and Atkins
I am also TTC, I have PCOS and weight loss is the one thing that really seems to help. I conceived my first child after losing the weight the first time. IMO, I would not stop the diet prematurly. It could be a factor in helping you concieve. With the fertility treatments I would thing your doctor will be monitoring you pretty closely for pregnancy. Once you are, then change accordingly. Re: TTC and Atkins
Hi Guys
I was on Atkins both times that I fell pregnant. I didn't stop whilst TTC - only when I discovered I was pregnant.
Good luck xxx

Re: TTC and Atkins
There are doctors who treats some fertility issues with Atkins type diets. Even if the diet didn't help get you pregnant you will probably need less clomid that other women. Heres a link to an interesting interview I found. Dr. Wilshire interview
