  • Sugar Free Chocolate?

    Hi guys!

I was wondering...would it b e so bad to have some sugar free chocolate?? I know the drugstore sells them and I just want to satisfy a small craving.

that or I need nuts!!! I used to eat TONS of nuts on my first time on Atkins!!! And they helped me on my journey!

What do you think? I have the munchies and munching on celery just isn't gonna do it!

    thanks
    Katie

Well, the chocolate isn't allowed -ingredients wise- for some time, andI'm not sure of where you are so far as what phase you're in.

    Secondly- it's a slippery slope.

Can you really eat "a small amount"? I know I've never been able to - but that's me.

There are lots of alternatives that keep you on plan, on your phase/level and will do the trick nicely. Get thee to the recipe section or google!

You could whip powdered cocoa with splenda in some whipping cream. Most sugar free chocolates have a ton of stuff you're not allowed to have but what concerns me is the way you characterize your craving. You need to starve the craving so it will go away or you won't have the control to eat even the best sugar free chocolate without it making the craving worse.

        Re: Sugar Free Chocolate?

Adding "low carb" or other sugar free products tends to stall a lot of people and makes them fall off the wagon. It's harder and harder for me, and others here to avoid the cravings for the real sweets when you're half satisfying them with various sugar-alcohol laden products.

        Just know your own limits.

Id opt to do the whipped cream/cocoa idea. The malitol in the sugar free candies .. um.. let's just say I have fully experienced the warning on the package about developing the poo's LOL

Katie, if you are wanting nuts so bad, head up the rungs! They're just a few weeks away... legally! Good job on passing up the chocolate. I had some today (a mistake), and my belly is letting me know it right now....
