Sea salt and kosher salt. Also pickling salts.

Just regular salt. They are beside each other at the store. Just look for the one that doesn't say iodized. Some of the sea salt comes iodized, so be careful. Kosher salt is never iodized and is really good.

Don't I just wish! If I didn't live in the city, where zoning laws prohibit having them, I would! I love chickens! My dream is to get back out in the country where I can have chickens again. At least I live where we have a lot of Amish and Mennonites and can get truly free range eggs. The government allows farms to claim free range as long as they are allowed out of their cages for 10 minutes per day! That is just so wrong!

Why does iodized salt have sugar?

I think it is used to spread the iodine through the salt. BTW, there are lots of different sea salts and they all have different flavores. There was one that felt kind of damp and looked grey that was super yummy but I only saw it at whole foods once

              It's to stabalize the iodine.

I had to go to Tractor Supply today, and I had to laugh. They had big containers with baby chicks, mallard ducks and geese. They were so cute! They had Rhode Island Reds and Barred Plymouth Rocks. I wanted to take them home soooo bad. I love chickens. I was thinking that if I fed them food with kelp in it, the eggs would have a lot of iodine. If I fed them flax, they would have omega-3. I had a mallard duck as a house pet once.

That is so cool! I can just see a little duck coming through as doggie door. They are supper cute. One of our neighbors has a pet bunny that lives in their front yard. He's cage less and never leaves the yard so when the kids walk to school that way they are ALWAYS late. I would love to have animals someday
