  • Golds Gym - Reviews?

I'm going in for a tour of Gold's Gym, today. I've got a massive workout regiment planned out by some bodybuilders, and I need the equipment there. However, I've heard it's expensive. Anyone here have a Gold's Gym membership? Is it worth it?

I've been a member at Gold's for a little over a year now (just renewed for another year last month). I LOVE it! I've had nothing but positive experiences there. The staff is very helpful and the group classes are great.

Ask them about special deals... When I first joined I got one month free, with no obligation to join after that month. It gave me a chance to make sure I liked it before I paid all that money.

I definitely think it's worth the money if you make the committment to go.

The difference between try and triumph is just a little umph!

I have had bad and good experiences with them. Right now, i pay 39 dollars a month. They changed their hours from 24 hours to shorter hours usually M-TH 5-11, Fri 5-9, Sat and Sun 9-9 I believe. It really depends on what gym you go to, the one i go to is focused mostly on weight lifting but the ones south of where i am are said to be really nice and all round nice. What i love about them which is why i keep paying for it is they have a cardio movie theater, which is dark and pretty decent movies.

They have recently changed from Golds Gym to Urban Fitness in the south i think. Customer Service is good and bad depending where you go. Their equipment is not too bad, but again i think it depends.

I would ask them if you could have a special of one month Free, they will probably give it to you, tell them you cannot evaluate the place for its worth in 3 days.

I have a great Gold's Gym in town, it's part of a network (6 others-you can use any of them), it's $229 a year. Good Luck, ever place regardless if it's a Gold's gym will be different.

This is FANTASTIC advice. It's not going to matter if 8 out of 10 ADBBers love the place. If you don't like it for whatever reason, it's money down the toilet.

Go do your thing there for a month - heck, even a 2 week pass will give you a better idea (but a month is much better!)- and then sign your life away if you love it. If you don't....there are plenty of other alternatives!
