  • When did you notice...

    Hi everyone,

    I am new to this board and this is my first post. I started Atkins, or what I thought was Atkins, last Tuesday when I went on a business trip for the week. I got home Friday night and hadn't really lost anything, I think a pound or so. The next day (Saturday), I had read more info online and realized I hadn't been doing everything properly (I thought veggies & cheese were unlimited) and then I did the right thing and went out and bought the book. So, Saturday was when I started following the plan acurately, and I am on day 5 (9 if you count my last week).

    I finally made my hubby hide the scale, because I haven't noticed a big difference yet, and I thought I'd ask you all when you first noticed a loss? First few days? After the first week? After the 14 day inuction?

    I'm not sure where to post this, so I will post it here and in the extended induction forum in hopes to get some answers from you all!

    Well, the first few days for me, I lost about 1 lb....and then I remember the next week I hopped on the scale and lost 5 lbs from the day before...i was so excited..it really just comes and goes for me..

    right now im 13 days scale-free..and it does wonders to the obsessive weighers.

    Give it time, the weight will start melting off before you know it.

      My weight fluctuates day to day, but as long as the general direction is down, I don't worry.
      i was so loaded on carbs when I started it took a few days for me to go into ketosis. I don't think I had a real (staying) loss until day 6 , maybe 7. Then it plunged....but I have a LOT to lose---the more you have to lose the faster it goes INITIALLY.

        I lost about 0.5-1 lb a day for the first couple of days, then WHOOSH! I lost 3 or 4 lbs in one go!
