I was talking to a friend of mine and she was saying how she didn't think that she could ever fit a smaller size jeans because her hips were too big. She isn't overweight at all and I was just wondering if its possible that your hips can be too large to move to a smaller size? For example, can anyone fit a size two if they lose enough weight? I guess I'm asking because I would really like to fit a pair of size twos eventually, but I have big ol wide hips.

Re: jeans and waist size
Obviously dieting can't shrink bone structure, but people might be surprised how much they can go down. I'm technically "big boned" when I measure my elbow breadth and I fall into the "large frame" category when it comes to sizing. At 165 lbs, I was a size 13 and QUITE certain I'd never get past a size 7 because of my junky trunk =)
However, I easily stayed a comfy size 2 for several years before straying onto the all-cookie-diet and ending up right back here again. So chances are, it IS possible for your bone structure. You also look quite petite and tiny framed in general.Start: 162.0 | Current: 161.0 | Goal: 120 | Age/Height: 25/4'9" | RESTART DATE: 09-01-2008 | PHASE: Induction

Re: jeans and waist size
I have a friend who's pear shaped who's never been able to wear jeans at all..she's got a tiny waist and flat stomach but her thighs are just too big ...it's her shape...all the exercising and dieting in the world has never helped. Alot of it depends on the type of jean, along with how your genetically built e
there are so many factors, its really hard to say. but i'd think that it's possible there could be sizes you may never get into no matter how much you lose.
I think it's a shame people concentrate so much on sizes, they're so different depending on the brand. I bought a pair of jeans (with stretch) at Walmart that were an 8, the next day i bought a pair of capris that have no lycra at all and they're a 3 and fit perfect. go figure...Jen, 39, F

Re: jeans and waist size
I have a certain idea of how I'd like to look. I don't know at what weight I will be able to achieve that look, but from what I figure, a size two jeans should cover it. When I was 108lbs, I could only fit into a size four, but I wasn't exercising nearly as much as I am now. I'm not willing to go under 105lbs so that size two may just be impossible for me. Meanwhile, I'll just keep toning up and hopefully I'll start losing again soon. Thanks for replying!

Re: jeans and waist size
I have naturally large hips and am pear shaped
When I was 105 lbs YeaRs ago I fit into a size zero....but even when I look at pics of me then, my hips looked unproportioned to the rest of my body. Thats why I don't want to get down that low. When I was a size 4 everything matched up pretty well. I guess it just depends on the person.
