Re: need to lose 30 by may!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Bianne:
While ANYTHING is possible - I am not sure that is a realistic goal you are talking a little over a month... no matter what appreciate whatever weight and more importantly inches you lose as from a realistic view point -- you will be that much lighter and healthier.
Trying to shock your system into losing that much weight that quickly can put your health at risk - so make sure you stay smart about your loss & how you obtain it
Good luck

Re: need to lose 30 by may!!!!!!!!!!
Remember, it's not the number on the scale, it's how your clothes fit and how fit you are!
As you lose fat, you'll hopefully be exercising and gaining muscle tone. That's a fantastic trade off and much better than losing more 'weight' but being flabby. Get serious about Atkins as a lifestyle change, not quick weight loss. One doctor I know acknowledges the quick weight loss, but COMPLETELY advises this as ONLY a lifestyle change -- why go back to bad habits that have you headed in the wrong direction?
For serious shaping and toning to go along with Atkins, check out the Beach Body videos. www.beachbody.com
You might not lose 30 pounds, but I can guarantee you'll be liking your body a lot more on May 17th if you get serious about this today and dedicate yourself to doing this smart and long term. If you're planning on eating/drinking crap on your vacation, don't even bother starting with Atkins right now!!!!!!5'7" Age: 42 Female
lowest consistent weight 143
up to 193; gained weight after baby

Re: need to lose 30 by may!!!!!!!!!!
Unless you're a guy that weighs over 300 pounds I'll put my money on no way, especially if after 30 pounds, you'd be at your ideal weight. It's pretty hard to lose those last pounds when you get close to your goal.
My Keys- Understand why muscle is one of the biggest keys to successful weight loss.
- Follow my mini-study on how high sodium intake correlated almost one to one with weight gains on the bathroom scale.
Successs In Progress
Here's basically what I'm doing to average a 2-4lb loss each week:- Free Weights M, W, F 40 minutes
- Cardio T, Th, S 90 minutes
- Average Intake=1300-1400 Average Expenditure=3200
- Low sodium (attempting - it's really tricky!)
- Grazing Approach
- Use of vitamins and whey protein isolate

Re: need to lose 30 by may!!!!!!!!!!
S/he's not in the high-loss induction zone anymore and s/he's not heavy enough (based on a post from last November where s/he indicated s/he was 236 and needed to lose 75 by May). I'm assuming s/he's about 180 now if you do the math.
You were 276 as a male. Most of your weight was probably lost during induction (the twenty pounds not listed in your signature) so that's just not reality for someone that's been on Atkins for months, is likely female and is nowhere near a weight that would allow that kind of loss.
Not possible unless you get on TBL show and Jillian kicks your butt into shape ;-)
