I have buffalo short ribs with the bones in them and fitday only has info for ground buffalo. I also tried calorieking and USDA and they only have ground or without bone. I don't know how much the bones weight so I can't subtract and after cooking won't the bones have a different weight?!?!?!?! Thanks for any help anyone can lend.

Re: Help! Nutrition info for buffalo short ribs!
i would just take an estimate and base it on the ground. it has 0g's of carbs so you should be ok anyway...your fat/protein numbers may be a bit off for the day but i wouldn't sweat it too much.
if you really need to know... base it on beef short ribs keeping in mind the fat may be different (i think buffalo is a bit lower). you can compare the differences between ground bison, and beef, then you'll have an idea of the difference between the 2 with the ribs.Jen, 39, F

Re: Help! Nutrition info for buffalo short ribs!
Thanks sadie, I'm gonna do more research. I'm trying to keep very close track of how my fat intake affects my loss so I need to get as close as possible. I like the idea of comparing the % difference between beef and buffalo ribs. Thanks
PS: I am in love with buffalo; I can't even imagine eating beef anymore!

Re: Help! Nutrition info for buffalo short ribs!
There's actually quite a few websites that give nutritional information about buffalo meat and the various cuts, but they also want you to buy their products as well. I don't know how reliable these figures are though.
I googled "buffalo beef ribs nutritional info."
On page two of the above search, there is a website that lists bison short ribs (with 1 rib as 5 oz) 22 g fat, 11 g sat fat, 306 calories, 28 g protein.
I would assume that the 5 oz are for the meat only after it has been cooked and removed from the bone.
Hope that helps!
