  • What's the Easter Bunny bringing?

Just when I think my older kids are too old for the Easter morning hunt and my youngest is too young, I found out otherwise when talking with my 19 year old last weekend!

New traditions have been a long time in coming. I've tried to emphasize fun and activities more than candy, but this year is perfect to get rid of the candy completely. I think DH is the one who's going to miss this the most -- a combination of wanting the candy himself and his childhood memories.

All the kids would rather have money, but love the traditional search for goodies. It's a combination of the fun, the competition and the comradery. This year I'm hiding plastic easter eggs filled with change and giving them baskets with piggy banks in them.

On another Easter week note... eggs, butter and ham on sale. A no-guilt holiday weekend for me!! I'm going to put on an Atkins-friendly feast for both breakfast and dinner. I figure if I keep the house-hold supplied with good foods they won't miss what I won't be making.

What a great idea!! Love the fact that you're starting new traditions with your family. Can't wait to hear an update on how they like the new Easter egg hunt!

My son doesn't like any type of candy. He'll get videos, books, games, etc in his basket instead of candy.

Cool new traditions! No candy is awesome.

I hope the Easter bunny brings me Tylonal, hot tea, and darkness for 12 hours straight so I can sleep....

Oh, for the kids? Well, they're getting The Bee Movie as a special surprise for dealing with mom in school so much. They'll get their usual semi-empty baskets with 1 tiny chocolate bunny and time to hunt for penny-filled, plastic Eastereggs just before we have to leave for Sunday service.

The children and loving husband desperately beg for candy. Since my son can not eat too much chocolate and husband does not need it, they will get a small basket to satusfy their needs. I don't have difficulty not eating ot,weight loss results are mor imoertant to me than a piece of candy. I did however see dear husband buying a piece of jewelry for me instead (nice new tradition) since I said definitely no candy not even the sugar free (can't eat it; makes me very ill!).
