Everyone that has ever tried or been on the Atkins Diet has encountered the wonderful egg that is a staple of many Atkinser's breakfasts. However, with Easter and many Chocolate Easter eggs, does anyone else have to fight very hard against giving in to this temptation? In addition, anyone know if there are any Atkins friendly Easter eggs? Probably will not be able to get them here, but just wanted to know for future reference.

I'm a hardcore fan of candy, so Easter always brings temptation in the form of the Cadbury Egg for me. But be strong! =)
As for Atkins-friendly candy.. depends really where you're at (Induction, OWL, Pre-Maintenance, Maintenance) and if you're somewhere where the sugar-free candies are an option.

Sorry dpaca ~ I know russell stovers makes some pretty good "sugar free" chocolates.. however as with all good things they do have sugar alcohols.. Atkins also used to carry a pretty decent type of chocolate here in the states that again had limited carbs but lots of sugar alcohols... but I haven't seen them in a long time.
As for temptation - not really an issue for me... I had to make my kiddo goodie bags for school and had lots of chocolate around... luckily for me I don't have a sweat addiction and can easily (most days) pass it up.
For ME... this year I will just stick with the Easter Eggs the Chicken left us versus what the Easter Bunny did ~ that or I'll take cash

This was on the Atkins 4 seizure control website. I'm making it today.
Brooke Lutz posted this in a message back in November 2007.
We've changed it to meet our needs. I keep these in the freezer
at all times to boost fat on a day when maybe we havn't done
well, or just for a treat, because these are yummy.

Butter Candies
2 sticks of unsalted butter (melted)
1/2 tsp vanilla
Sweetener of your choice. We use liquid stevia and Sweet 10
I then pour this into "Wilton" candy molds and freeze.
If you wait until the butter is sort of cloudy instead of
clear you can put a little cocoa powder into it and it tastes

I USED to be the BIGGEST Chocolate/Sweet ADDICT! But i'm now on day 13 of induction and i've just stocked up on lOads of CHOCOLATE eggs for the family.
Yet i have NO craving for them? I even smelled a chocolate bar yesterday, and NO nothing! I'm FREEEEEEEEEEE! lol
I never thought i would feel like this..
Anyway, HAPPY EASTER everyone!!!

I'll admit I've already fallen into the temptation and eaten some of the easter candy. I haven't been good today and with the weekend full of family and holiday, I am going to try hard to not over induldge but I am going to scrap the weekend and start fresh on Monday when it's all over.
