Have you got a copy of the list of allowed induction foods? If not then there is one in our faq forum which will show you what foods can be eaten.

Also here is a link to the rules of induction

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

      Welcome to the board!

As a source to merely meet one's RDA for protein, eggs are permitted on Atkins - not required. Ditto for what is said to be "all that bacon." You only need what you need!

Yeah, I am not sure where the "I have to eat eggs" part of the Diet came in, but I have been asked twice this same question. "Do I have to eat eggs?" "Am I required to eat eggs?" Coming from a guy who doesn't like eggs outside of being used as an ingredient, I am glad you have freedom of taste on Atkins.

As much as helps you feel full is the usual thumb. There isn't a requirement or specific measurement. I like to keep my protein under 30% of my total calories. In the low twenties seems to be best for my mood, hunger and loss. As or eggs you don't have to eat them at all. I like them because they help with satiety in the morning and have been shown to reduce hunger throughout the day. I also like them because I get omega eggs and they are just super healthy.

            HI Guys,

Thanks for the info. I think i may have frased my ? wrong. I meant as in to stay healthy as i know eating to many eggs can be bad for you. Ive also been eating rather alot of meat. Sorry for any confusion.

I have read the full induction but i have a slow learning rate so it takes a while for it to sink in.

            xx

Too bad of anything can be bad for you. That said, I don't think it's humanly possible to eat too many eggs while doing any low-carb diet. You'll probably feel satiated before you hit any danger zone.

If you're worried about the usual recommendation of not eating more than two eggs a day, don't be. The study that brought about that recommendation was debunked decades ago. You see, the study used powdered eggs. When other scientists tried to replicate the study using real eggs, no detrimental effects of eggs were found.

In his book Dr. Atkins Age-defying Diet, he doesn't put a restriction on the number of eggs you can eat. He however recommends eating at least two a day.

              Also from the same book...

"In a 1994 study, twenty four adults added two eggs a day to their diets,... ther total cholesterol went up 4 percent. Their all important HDL levels went up by a desirable 10 percent."

How many eggs can you eat? As many as you want.
