  • Man, this was pure agony.........

At work Friday, they had a bake sale to raise money for part of an office fundraiser for the cancer foundation. I've never seen so many
    chocolate
chip cookies, fudge, cakes, pies, etc. etc. in my life. There must have been a total of 100,000
    carbs
and 1,000,000 calories packed into our break room, where I go to get coffee, water, etc. etc................As if that wasn't bad enough, one of the guys in my department had a birthday and we had a big ole cake for him sitting on the desk next to me.

I wound up buying about 75 cookies, at a buck apiece, hey, it was charity. I gave them to my wife, the school teacher, to give to her class of fifth graders for a snack. Never had a piece of cake, not a cookie,
    nadda
.................man, what misery to be around all those
    carbs
    and not eat any.

Then today, I met up with a friend to go to a "event" and at lunch time we went over to the snack bar, fires, burgers, hot dogs. I got a hamburger and a hot dog, threw the bread away and just ate the meat..............

    Guess I'm in the
    atkins
    groove................................ck

I felt that way when I was at Disney Monday. I was there 10.5 hours and the whole place smelled like candy. They have their own candy parlors where they make the candy right there and you can watch. It was so hard.

Good for you clayking!!!! You didn't fall in to the temptation of the sweets, and also did well at the snack bar at the "event".

That is totally awesome clay and porcelain. You made the choice for health over a momentary pleasurable taste. You both deserve a huge pat on the back.

Clay... you didn't fall. That's just terrific. Your constancy will pay off and you'll be the winner in the end. The taste of cakes and cookies is nowhere near as good as the feeling you'll get when you reach goal... no way!

You know, it gets easier every time you say "no" to yourself. Pretty soon you'll hardly miss those trashy carbs. When you get to that stage, you'll begin to see that you really can make Atkins a lifestyle.

A big round of to you for sticking to your guns!

My office had a bake sale Friday also (do we work at the same place??!) Anyhow, I didn't even look at the stuff. Sugar just doesn't do it for me any more.

            Great job resisting the temptations!

Congrats on avoiding temptation, clayking! Kudos to Porcelain and ttdriver as well. The more people share things like this the more we all feel motivated that we'll succeed.
