  • Profile of a Loser

(I've been on this board for 5 years and met some of the great losers of all time. Unfortunately I am not one of them yet, but I have learned a lot from them. Some of them have lost over 100 pounds, Kent, 2big, and others. Some have lost 100s of pounds over and over again, but they do know the secret to lose, they just don't know how to stay "lost". Some lost only 20 or 30 pounds, but they had the same struggles of the heavyweights.
    1) They Read the Book
Atkins plan is pretty simple really; the first two weeks you only eat foods on the acceptable list in allowed amounts, after that you start adding food groups and carbs until you find your numbers. But….. They learned that it just wasn't that simple. They found out that everyone responds to the plan differently, and they found out what works for them. They leared how their body responded to foods, to emotions, to stress, to exercise, to water and even to them times they eat. How each of them do that is different and might not work for us, but we have to find that nitch for ourselves.
They used the book like a map, but then they followed their own route.
    2) They exercise. I am sorry, but thats a fact. You will find that all the big losers exercise!!!! So if we want to join them, if we want to lose, get out the walking shoes cause there just isn't any way around that.
    3) They drink water, don't ask me how, I hate water, but they drink water and they lose.
    4) They also are board members, this board, others boards and I believe that also helps

Can we be a Loser? Can we learn from them? I think we can, but we have to know what Atkins isn't

It isn't a quick way to lose weight
It isn't an all protein diet
    It isn't easy, its work.

    41 pounds down and counting

Thanks for the post! We can absolutely be big losers! We just have to stick to the points you listed, Desertthorn! I can't wait until I'm as big of a loser as some of the others around here!
