my question is can cod liver oil be taken during atkins (esp induction) without adverse effects?

    Re: cod liver oil?

Hi Eluxon and congrats on your progress so far! I take cod liver oil and it is just fine! It's got great fatty acids in it and I've read that it also helps your joints. Go ahead and take it (but I hope it's the pills and not the actual oil, yuck! )!

Thanks for the reply. I've taken it before specifically for easing the joints. Believe it or not I actually don't mind the oil... (fine if washed down with water)

I just don't like the smell of it! But if you can handle it, good for you! Hope your second week is going well so far!

I've had some of the 'text book' symptoms for induction flu - headaches, leg cramps etc but all seems ok - its just a case of sitting it out. I'm definitely in ketosis tho, which is a good sign

Oil is really good on atkins! I take ann omega blend but have considered cod for my knees.
