  • I'm getting very frustrated

with this whole BMR thing! every single site has different ranges, adn I feel as though Fit Day is way over the top. It says that I burn 2791 calories from "backround activities" and it says my BMR is 1959. That BMR sound about right for my height and wieght, but toburn 2791 calories from sitting there?? uh, that leaves no room for me to work out and stuff unless I eat ALOT more calories, and I cant! It's just not possible! I know calories DO matter, I just want to eat between my BMR and BMA, and I've about had it going to different sites and getting very different answers *sigh* what can I do??

One problem with the internet is that we can get too bogged down in all the conflicting 'expert opinions' out there. If we are not careful we can over-analyse things and get confused

The main thing to consider is what Dr Atkins advised. Are you eating enough food to satisfy your hunger? Are you choosing nutritious food to make sure you are eating your RDA of vitamins and minerals?

If the answer to those questions is 'Yes' then I am sure you will be fine.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

You know, I absolutely agree, there is information overload and its really difficult to know which expert to believe. You come on these boards and folks tell you what worked for them, but we all know we have to find out what works for our unique bodies.
The good Dr tells us, "Researchers at New York's Schneider Children's Hospital studied 40 obese patients, ages 12 to 18 who were split into two groups. The low-fat group lost half as much weight on 1100 calories per day as did the controlled carborhydrate group, which was allowed unlimited calories and on average ate 1830 calories per day. "
Now when I first started last January, I kept a fitday journal and my calories where way up there, but lately, sometimes they are under 1000. Neither seems to effect my weight loss.
