  • motivation is not there

I am not feeling very motivated right now. I just need some encouragement. TOM is starting pretty soon (like in the next 2 days) and I just dont feel very good. I know that I have already lost 10 lbs which is great, but I feel like I cant do this anymore. I want to eat everything, but at the same time I dont feel like eating anything. My body feels so yucky and sick right now. I just want to lose 7 more lbs by graduation May 1st, but that little mean voice inside me is telling me that I cant do it. Oh no this is awful. Please help

    Re: motivation is not there

Not to mention the spring allergies are really getting to me, and I have asthma and when they affect me my asthma kicks in and I have a harder time breathing. Which is also giving me less motivation, and I dont want to work out for fear of not being able to breathe that well. It is athmatic pollen, and my peak flows are very high. So I will just have to suffer.

I get like that when I PMS. I can smell other things I want that I know are not in the house and I feel horrible. Just try to get some rest and say to yourself you will feel better once your TOM gets there. I prefer having cramps over how the PMS makes me feel. Treat yourself to something Atkins friendly that is kinda decadent like shrimp or prime rib then maybe go to bed early after drinking some warm herbal tea.

I wanted to come back and add this site. It has great recipes. Treat yourself to something good and take care of yourself. http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/index.html

Are you eating enough? Are you in OWL? If not, perhaps you should move. The extra veggies of rung one might well give you the energy you need.
Sorry to hear about your allergies. Spring is a hard season for many, that way.

Just hang in there. Every once in awhile I see something or smell something and I instantly want it but I distract myself and it goes away. Lucky for me except for chocolate I don't want to eat during TOM. That's actually when I lose weight.

            Re: motivation is not there

Sweetz I'm feeling ya right now...I am having a horrible TOM right now too and I also suffer from seasonal allergies that are awful and am feeling miserable...I cheated all weekend and gained 3 lbs, and I felt even more awful. It was so not worth it. Just try to remember how good you'll feel if you stick it out and meet your goal for graduation. I am trying to get down to atleast 195 by my 26th birthday may 4th and I know I'll be absolutely miserable if I mess up and GAIN weight by then. For motivation I've been looking at a list I have of reasons to lose weight. If you don't have one...write one down. Also I've been looking at pictures of me looking fat and gross with my double chin, and looking at pictures of when I was thin for motivation. For my serious TOM chocolate craving I am thinking of mixing some cocoa powder with cream cheese and a splenda packet...and this sounds gross and greasy but I've been having pizza cravings so I've been putting pepperoni in the microwave with mozzarella on top and nuking it and eating it...tastes nice and greasy and cheesy and seems to stave off my cravings for really bad things...just try to find pepperoni with no dextrose or other added sugar...I also have a little voice inside me that tells me I can't do it and other awful things...self sabatage is what it is and I'm getting better and better at shutting the voice up and the more I ignore it the more it seems to go away...hope this helps a little! Don't give up sweetz you can do this!

              Re: motivation is not there

When I'm having an especially hard time staying strong I go to the before and after pictures here or the YouTube videos from Kent. They make me really see how much this works. Also, I look at older fatter pictures of myself and that makes me very motivated!! The best motivating tool for me though is by far my "skinny" jeans. They aren't really skinny, they are a size 14 but for me that was skinny! They were in my closet not being worn for the past year but now they are starting to get loose. Think of the wonderful changes you are making in your life and how great you will eventually look and feel! I know it can be so hard- especially with allergies and TOM!! But you are strong and able to do this! Look at the pictures on this forum and the pictures of yourself, I hope they will help you!! I think 7lbs by 1 May is doable but even if you don't quite make it you will look good trying!
