  • i gained 10 pounds?!

    i know my eating hasnt been perfect and with all this exercise i thought i was in control here. maybe i should be getting on the scale more often
    Hello, my name is Christopher and
    I am with my son, Nicholas Christopher
    Start Date:10/29/07 @ 276lbs

    I am 42 now

    SW 276lbs / CW 264lbs / GW 190
    I am 5'10"

    I gained some back but I have regained my focus!!

    What are your measurements? You have been doing a lot of exercise, I can only imagine you have gained a bit of muscle. That's why I weigh, measure, and take a picture. I do it at least once a month.

      You know exercise is wonderful and necessary, but if you really want to lose you gotta stick to the food plan, not just for days but for weeks and months - one without the other just isn't Atkins and won't work. I don't mean to be mean, but you do stray a lot on the eating Chris, and although you try to make it up each time with extra push-ups or whatever, it isn't a straight exchange, it just doesn't work like that.

      Having said that, you are FANTASTIC on the exercise front and could very well have gained some of those pounds as muscle.

        Atkins is like a three-legged stool, you gotta do it all to succeed, diet, exercise and water.

          Well now you know. So just look ahead and work the program. Look how much you have lost already. You know how to do it cause you did it before. I had to get my book out again on Monday just so I can freshen up my know how. May not be a bad idea......

              I'm surprised that you are surprised that you gained. You decided that March 1 would be the day that you would get serious about the diet portion of Atkins, but it's April now and it never happened. Even if you put on some muscle, you didn't put on 10 pounds of muscle. Even competitive body builders only put on 5 to 8 pounds of muscle in a good year.

              You can't just pick out the parts of the Atkins diet you like and eat those foods along with the carbs. You have not from the very first done a clean induction or gone very long without straying. Get serious and it will happen. I know you bought the book--now read it! You can do this! I know you can. Don't wait until the time is right. JUST DO IT!
