  • I Need Major Help And Willpower Donations

Ok so heres my problem. Last Year i went onto the Cambridge Diet.. inwhich you survive on three milkshakes a day and 2ltrs of water and nothing else. Your body goes into ketosis and really i lost alot of weight on this diet but it crept back on when i had my daughter.

I really need inspiration that i will have the same results with this plan. I lost amazing 2 and half stone in four weeks last time (and not eating really didnt do my head in) on the cambridge diet and i felt amazing.. im just scared that this diet will not happen fast enough for me.. although i understand its a plan for life if i dont see fast results i will give up!

Some please tell me they had alot of weight loss as 7 lbs in a two week period doesnt seem fast to me.... Im in two minds PLEASE HELP

it IS a lifestyle, not a race. decide what it is you want to achieve. does it really matter how long it takes!? everyone loses at their own pace. while you are losing, your body is becoming healthier which is the OTHER purpose of atkins. that is MY motivation. i guess if you want "fast", this might NOT be for you. but i will tell you that it works and it is healthy and if you follow it for life as a lifestyle, you will NOT regain the weight like you will with a fad plan.

i guess what i am trying to say is that you will just have to be patient and persisit but it does work.

Sure , there are faster ways to loose weight out there, but they arent healthy. Besides, the slower you lose, not only the more healthy but you will lose in the right places and even out and have a better chance of keeping it off. Very rapid loses by restricing food like the diet you described results in muscle loss as well as fat, in fact, fat may be held onto because the body is being deprived and as well all know, when the body feels deprived, it panics and holds onto fat but is willing to let go of muscle and your metabolism slows drastically.

Something to think about though...On a diet where you get results by 3 shakes a day cant be a lifetime way of eating. So, what happens when you reach goal and then have to eat normal again? It very well may just come back on because you havent learned what atkins teaches and that is how to eat healthy for life, not just until you lose the weight you want.

But speaking of speed, I think this is the fastest HEALTHY way. Sure, anorexia, strict unhealthy diets, etc may give faster results but they cant last and once you eat normal again the weight comes back double, I speak from experience. Not to mention your miserable when you are depriving yourself.

I too sometimes get impatient but atkins isnt a quick fix because quick fixes never last.

So sure, this isnt the fastest way out there (though it sure is in the top 5 for speed compared to other ways) but its the one that will last a lifetime.

7 lbs in two weeks doesn't seem fast to you? This is the fastest healthy weight loss plan I have ever seen- and trust me I've seen/tried them all! As the others mentioned, you need to learn to eat right while losing the weight or it will just come back when you are at goal. I used to think that if I could just get the weight off easily (through surgery or crash diets) then I could keep it off but the reality is that my bad eating habits would still be there so the weight would have come right back. This way is much better- I feel fantastic and more full of energy than I ever have and I'm losing weight! I've lost a little over 30 lbs in three months and I'm ecstatic with that! My mom has been doing a different weight loss plan but we started at the same time and she has only lost 9 lbs. This is a great WOE, I just can't say enough good things about it and I encourage you to give it a serious try. But don't expect 35 lbs gone in 4 weeks. That's just not healthy! If you want a crash diet, this isn't it. This is a sensible, healthy and Long Term way of Life. Good luck!

Cuppycake, do the math. There are 3500 calories in a pound of fat. If you lost 35 lbs of fat in 28 days, that means you ate 4375 cal/day less than you burned. That seems rather unlikely. It was almost all water weight you lost, made more pronounced by the limited amount you were allowed to drink. I would prefer to lose fat myself.

Plus, losing that fast only increases the risk of excess skin!
