i'm just wondering if any of you have changed your goal weight. i'm 8 pounds away from my original goal weight (i determined 150 was a good goal when i was 184) and depending on how i feel at 150, i might revise my goal to 143 or thereabouts. have any of you done this or have you stayed pretty true to your original goals?

Re: did you change your weight goal?
Yep. I changed mine several times.
Originally I set my goal weight for 130lbs. When I hit 160 I knew that 130 was just ridiculous for me, my body type and my body composition, so I brought it up to 149.
I'm currently at 144ish lbs and I'd like to see 139lbs, but I'm not stressed or worried about it. If it happens, cool and if it doesn't, that's okay too.
Congrats on making your original goal!

Re: did you change your weight goal?
Yes, I changed mine about 10 times ... I underestimated the power of Atkins and exercise, that's for sure.
Initial goal: to lose 15 pounds. By the end of 11 months, I was down 27.5 pounds. That was Dec 2002. I am currently down another 5.5 from that and have maintained that for over 5 years.
The real goal is to improve your health and keep yourself strong !

Re: did you change your weight goal?
Im prolly gonna be changing my goal. My current goal is to get down to 170 & see how I feel from there. According to charts I should be around 160 ish. I'm not so much interested in lbs so much as how well I look. I want my body to be toned and able to fit in pretty clothes. However much I weight at that point is my goal

Re: did you change your weight goal?
yes originally I had it set at 145 which I'd like to see again but for the moment I'd be happy to see the 160's so once I make it there I will reevaluate and change it probably.

Re: did you change your weight goal?
Yes, I doing the same as you, thinking my original weight loss goal maybe not be my ending goal. At 181 I thought 150 WOW I'll never make it! But, at 159 this morning I'm thinking WOW I'll make that in no time!
I'm definately going to continue eating this way after I reach 150 & see where it leads.

Re: did you change your weight goal?
I had mine originally set at 170. I tend to under shoot though, but as I gain self confidence and believe in myself I know I am capable of more than that. I reset my goal to 140 but have 170 as my short goal.Mindy

Re: did you change your weight goal?
You know, I was thinking about doing that. Focusing on 150. If I get to 150, that's 100 pounds lost and I thought I would refigure from there. I am so much more active with regular exercise than I was when I was smaller so I probably didn't have a lot of muscle. Plus, I know I will have excess skin and there's no telling how much that will weigh and I will need to wait for that to firm up or get cut off.Originally posted by mothercooterI had mine originally set at 170. So yeah, chunk!, I think that goal weight is subjective and will need to be adjusted at times. I haven't been small or a "normal" weight for an adult in so long and some here have never been so it is hard to formulate that magic number. Some people go right to it, other people, their bodies say "ain't gonna happen, not right now." I just hope to get to a size and an energy level I love and feel happy obtaining and maintaining.

Re: did you change your weight goal?
Yep I changed mine. When I reached the weight I was before my pregnancies, I decided I'd like to go a little lower... so I did.
Like Betty, I underestimated the power of Atkins and exercise, at the beginning. Before and after:

Re: did you change your weight goal?
My goal weight has always been 150lbs. However I weigh about 215lbs right now and can get into a size 14 without any problems. I can even pull size tens over my hips. Of course I have about four inches to go until I can button them! LOL I will be happy as a size 8/10. Of course if I can fit into a size 8/10 and weigh 160lbs I will be happy! Well as long as my body fat is good.

Re: did you change your weight goal?
Yep, I had set it at 180 lbs now it's 150 lbs once I reach that I will see how I feel and look. I think ideally 130-140 would be great!
