  • sleep problems?

Okay I have no idea if this is Akin's related or not, but ever since I began this WOL I have woken up EVERY MORNING at 5-5:30 am. Normally this would be considered a means of torture to me. I don't mind it at all except that it doesn't matter if I got to bed at 8pm or 1am, I'm still up and WIDE AWAKE at 5:30. At this point I've had a couple of late nights and I'm EXHASTED. But I can't sleep! Is this related at all to this WOL? Any one had problems like this? Or does anyone have advice? (I know the obvious answer is go to bed early, but I have a house with 5 kids to run so that isn't always possible!) thanks ahead for any input!

    Re: sleep problems?

I'm not sure if that's ketosis related, but I had that exact same issue during my first few months of this WOE too. I was bouncing out of bed easily 2 hours before i normally could even crawl out of bed!

It did eventually pass for me...Now i wish i was getting up at 5:30 lol

One thing you can try is Melatonin, you can buy it at any health food store, or in drug stores where natural suppliments are (Walmarts pharmacy has it here). It's a natural remedy that helps induce sleep..but is not a sleeping pill. I find it helps me fall asleep and stay asleep. It's non addictive etc. You can do a google search on it and research it. Here is some info on it from the Mayo Clinic. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/mel...ient-melatonin

Thank you so much! I'll check into that. It would be nice to get a full night sleep!

I had a few restless nights in my first week but now I sleep like a log. And feel totally energized evry single morning I wake up,(4am). God Bless, Joe
