  • Finally...a mini-milestone achieved

Hi everyone, I haven't posted in awhile, but I've been sticking to my plan. After 53 weeks (1 year, 1 week) I stepped on the scales this morning and to my delight I weighed 299.1 lbs! This is the first time I have weighed under 300 in about 11 years. I was so happy I started to cry (I'm still a bit weepy).

How did I do it? I've been on a modified induction plan since April 30, 2007 (two weeks after my start date of April 16). I take in about 25-30 g of carbs a day. I've also been walking - walking the dog, walking my daughter to and from school, but about 3 weeks ago, I began a UBC class (Ultimate Bodyshaping Course) which is a combination of aerobics and kick-boxing, one hour a night, five times a week. I've definitely kicked up the exercise a notch!

I'm not at all disappointed that I haven't lost more than 89.2 lbs. in more than one year. On the contrary, I want to take my time, lose the weight gradually, and (hopefully) not have to worry about a lot of loose skin when I reach my goal. I measured myself recently, and I have lost 12 inches off my hips and 5 off my waist since I started this WOE.

Anyway, I just wanted to shout it to the rooftops that I finally, finally made it under 300!

Fantastic job! I too am losing slow and even though I would be happier to be at goal already, it is fine with me, as long as I am making progress. Keep up the good work!

Congratulations. Very inspirational. So nice to see that you can approach it as a life plan rather than a quick fix.
