  • Scientific Water Question?

So I don't quite understand the science behind the fast weightloss in Induction. The main weightloss is from water loss right? This may sound really dumb but how is that we can lose water weight so quickly when we are consuming a lot of water at the same time?

I'm no expert but I have read that the reason you need to drink water to lose water is multiple things....like if you don't have enough water coming in, your body holds onto what its got....also helps to just flush things through!

Your body requires a lot of fluid (water) in the cells to process carbohydrates. It requires much less to process protein and fat, so once you cut way down on carbs, the body lets go of the water it no longer needs. That's why when you cheat your body hangs on to so much water weight--to process those extra carbs you ate.

In DANDR 2002, Dr. Atkins says that the first 4 pounds are water loss and then after that it's fat loss.

Thanks everyone! It's amazing what the body is capable of as long as you don't bring it down with soda's, junk food, and other stuff like that!
