  • Check out my diet please.

    Hi Again,

    I've been on inductin deliberately for nearly 6 weeks, I've lost 12lbs so far but as I've posted else where, I seem to have stuck for the last 8 days. Just wanted someone to check out my daily food intake please, I weight and measure everything.

    Breakfast: 1 egg, 1 rasher of bacon. OR 2 eggs scrambled, occasionally I have a sausage 1.6 carbs.

    Lunch: (when I get time) small piece of cheese, lettuce, tsp mayo.

    Dinner: either: chicken, steak, pork steak, or fish always with lots of green salad or veggies. (I love veggies and salad) thats where most of my carbs come from.

    I drink about 6 cups of black coffee and approx 4 pints of water. Just started having the occasional glass of wine or a vodka with soda water and I have also had a few nuts now and again, (weighed of course- 1 carb)

    The only thing I miss on this diet is fruit. I never did like sweet things or chips,

    Can you see anything I'm doing wrong?

    Nuts are not allowed until the later rungs and the wine will stall you.

      I've been on a modified version of Induction for over a year now because I started out having to lose over 230 lbs.

      Besides the nuts and alcohol that mike mentioned, be careful about the kinds of veggies you eat. Some, like carrots, have quite a bit of natural sugar in them and may be inhibiting your weight loss. Check the book! I eat approx. 25 - 30 grams of carbs a day, and I do include fruit (just berries) in that count, as well as a low-carb, high fiber tortilla with my lunch.

      Remember, don't starve yourself. Eat until you are full. This is a lifelong change in your way of eating. Good luck!

        Six cups of coffee a day is alot...I'd try cutting it out and see what happens. Also, as mentioned by others nuts and wine are not allowed on Induction. If you want to eat them you should move onto OWL. I know 8 days seems like a lot when you are not losing but that is normal. Some months I lose 10 pounds and others I lose almost nothing.

          Caffeine is maybe your staller. Can you cut back to maybe 3 cups of regular and 3 cups of decaf?

            what everyone else saiid and... you will have far more answers from reading the book (2002)...trust me...you don't want to be wasting your time and energy not doing this the right way! you don't want to be dissapointed in the end wondering why your not losing weight and then get discouraged...been there...done that!!!

              You aren't eating enough. And don't forget to get in some non salad type vegis.

                Careful of the coffee. Careful of the sausages (check for hidden nasties). If you're drinking alcohol, you aren't doing induction (extended or otherwise).

                I suggest you make the tweaks, maybe increase your amounts if hungry and start in OWL. Sounds like you'd welcome the extra food choices and OWL often jolts people back into losing, particularly the first rung.

                  Thank you all for your advice.

                  I try and keep things simple as i have 2 kids and mother in law to feed, hubby is difficult to feed so I end up cooking 3 different meals every night!

                  I'll reduce the coffee, and as I've only just started having the odd V & T I'll cut that out too.

                  I'm never hungry on this diet, I eat more on it than I did before I started. I'll keep going as I'm not disheartened yet, I'm sure I'll get there eventually....8lbs isn't that much..I'll just have to be more patient!

                    Good attitude - BUT
                    Move to OWL now!!!
