  • PMS cravings

    I'm looking for suggestions on how to get through the PMS cravings..... I'm starting to want to eat everything in sight....

    Currently on OWL as of May 19, 2008
    Female, 37

    Starting Weight: 175.5
    Current Weight: 165
    I've Lost 10.5 lbs!!
    Minigoal 1: 165 ~ May 6th, 2008

    Minigoal 2: 155
    Minigoal 3: 150
    Minigoal 4: 145

    Minigoal 5: 140
    GOAL: 135

    Stay out of the kitchen!! Find something else to do~~~go for a walk, do some sit ups or push ups, run up & down a flight of stairs, clean out the closet, brush your teeth...

      Are you craving chocolate? I believe "they say" low magnesium causes this. Are you supplementing well?

      Sometimes, I have this PMS where I want to eat everything in site. I just try to have good food around. I may over eat but it is all legal stuff.

        Brush your teeth? I actually lol'd at that because I really don't like to eat just after I brushed my teeth.

          LOL.... brushing teeth and chewing gum both work!!

          I'm not a chocolate person at all.... I crave munchies.... chips, pretzels, etc. and just want to basically eat everything in sight!

            It's best to try to "walk it off" but if you have to eat something, make sure you have legal foods around. You are less likely to go get in the car and get something if you don't have it in the house.

              I really wish it was that easy but I do have to keep things in the house for hubby & son's lunches and I also won't deprive them... But I do generally have mostly legal foods in the house. I'll survive and just try to stay focused.

                I usually have my highest calorie days the day before and the first day of TOM. I just eat legal stuff till I'm satisfied, which sometimes is an obnoxious amount of food. however, unlike my low calorie days, this doesn't add ten pounds back on my arse, although some months, i have a couple days stall. I may be lucky in that I never gain weight during TOM.





                290 lbs. on 11/02/07 Goal: 145 lbs. or size 14 whichever comes first!

                  I always knew just when TOM was a day off coming to visit. I could eat and eat and never get full or find that magic food that would be the one I was looking for to stop the madness. After starting Atkins, I just made sure it was all legal food that I pigged out on and didn't try to stop eating for that one or two days. Fortunately for me, after I started, I would lose my appetite for a couple of days, so it evened out in the end.

                  Since you crave munchies, have plenty of pork rinds around and eat things with crunch like celery with cream cheese or jicama.
