  • Exercise with Boxing/Muay Thai Kickboxing

For anyone looking to change up there exercise routine and are up for the challenge...

A few months a go I started boxing at a gym called L A Boxing. They have a bunch of locations all over the US. Classes are one hour long of regular Boxing or Muay Thai Kickboxing classes where you use 150 lb muay thai heavy bags. You can burn 800 - 1000 calories an hour. You can work at your own pace so it's good for beginners and advanced. If you are more daring they have sparring classes where you can fight in the ring doing mma, boxing kickboxing and jiu jitsu. They also have all different types of punching bags, workout equipment and weights. The workout can be pretty intense and I have been sore in the weirdest spots.

I really needed this to push my workout routine over the edge. It's also comfortable for women but tough enough for they men. I figured to let you guys know if anyone is interested or needed that extra push to tone and lose weight.

Here's the link if anyone is interested:

You just do what you can or you can just stretch or walk in place till your ready to join in again. People do that all the time.

        That sounds great!

We don't have anything like that in the Uk (at least I don't think so). But I wanted to add that kickboxing (or a range or martial arts) are great for exercise and really give a focus.

I joined a kickboxing club near me and have eanred 2 belts in around 4 months - the bag work or sparring (as you say, Cherribom) is FAB for working up a sweat and you get to learn self defence, and do fitness stuff like squats, situps, pushups and lots of flexibility work. I go 3 times a week and love the structure it gives - I can plan my exercise around it making the next belt a target to aim for. Great when the gym gets a little tired.
