  • fried zucchini (how many carbs ?)

Ok i want to be lazy but i am ready to beg for your help.
I am on induction and i want to fry half a zucchini with egg and parmesan in olive oil. I am guessing half a Z will be about 4 OZ.
How many carbs do you think i should add to my menu ?

i found this recipe and the nutritional value at some random website. it shows 6 carbs for a whole zucchini, so if i use half, is it safe to assume that i am only eating 3 carbs ?
i am on induction and i really need to watch my 20 carb limit !

    Parmesan-Fried Zucchini
    Low Carbohydrate Recipe

    Ingredients:
    One zucchini freshly ground
    One egg
    Grated Parmesan cheese
    Oil to fry

    Directions:
Heat oil in small skillet. Stir egg briskly with fork in a small bowl.

Pour grated parmesan cheese onto small plate.

Slice zuchinni and dip slices into egg, covering both sides.

Lay zuchinni slices in parmesan cheese and cover both sides. Fry zuchinni slices in oil until golden brown and crispy. Remove and place on paper towel to drain oil.

    Recipe makes one serving.

Optional: Dip in cheese fondue or ranch dressing.

NOTE: Count for parmesan cheese not included so you'll need to adjust accordingly.

OH YUM!!! That sounds fantastic!! I am not sure if i have the answer for you but in fitday it says 1 cup of 'cooked' slices is 7.07 carbs with the net fiber at 2.52g.......hope that helps some. Maybe someone else will have a better answer.

Yes, half a raw zuch should be about 3 carbs. But don't forget to count the carbs in your egg and parmesan, too. You might want to go with 5 carbs total, to be safe.

Made it and had it for breakfast, though in the future it is better suited for later in the day meal/ snack.
It was yummy !! i used a whole zucchini and made several batches. Some with no seasoning, some with creole seasoning in the egg, Some with less parmesan.

It is very easy to make and you can modify the basic recipe to suit your taste.

I would weight them if you can since I can get zucchini from the diameter of my ex's thumb to my arm. There's a lot of variation there.
