    Re: wii fit????

I've been wanting to get the Wii fit as well. My husband bought a Wii a few months ago. It's better then his Play Station 3! I love it! When I first saw the Wii Fit, I told him I wanted it! It would help me out alot with exercising. So, from reading the thread, I take it it's worth buying?

      Re: wii fit????

I bought it the first day out - it was the reasoning behind me buying the Wii... and I waited the 4 freaking months from the time they released it in EU and Japan until it came over. It's awesome. I think I have like, 3 yoga poses, and 2 strength training things yet to unlock.

The step aerobics is great, and word on the street is that they will be coming up with a DDR using the balance board (which would be the version of step aerobics only longer, since right now - unless you do the freestyle one, it only does 5 min). The run is also really fun - you can unlock longer distances, I just unlocked the Island Run, which is about 10 minutes (versus 3 or 6).

I actually thought the weight limit on the European ones was 300 lbs, I guess that's one of the revisions that was made. There was a lot of controversy about having this be the limit in the US actually. The first shipment of them (on the 21st) sold out the same day, I don't know the status of the second shipment (released 23rd) or anything after that. The GameStop guys near me said they go as soon as they get there.

Anyway, they're fantastic... and this is coming from a girl who dislikes video games.

        Re: wii fit????

We have the wii Fit and love it ........ it's a fun family activity and not just an ordinalry video game as it definitly causes you to get up and move your body ...... as do alot of the wii games in general ...... bowling baseball ect ...... there all good and much better then sitting on your butt in front of the tv!!!!

To the person who asked about what they need it is rather costly to get set up you do need a Wii game system which can run you around 400.00 most games are between 30 and 60 controllers if you need extras for your family cost as well ...... The Wii fit game was 80 for us. All in all well worth it for what we get out of it but definitly an investment.

We are a gaming family so it was a no brainer for us . we have Xbox 360, playstation 2 and now the Wii ..... the kids have PSP's and DS's so if it's out there we generally have it ....but it is quite an investement to get started on any gaming system and If I had to choose just one to own I think I would defintly reccommend the Wii .....

          Re: wii fit????

The Base Wii is $250, each controller (it comes with one controller and one nunchuck) is approx. $40, I think additional nunchucks are about $20, my Fit was $90 (at Target). The covers for controllers (they *do* come with covers, but they're ugly) are about $15-30, depending on whether you go with Nintendo brand or not, the additional sports package (with a golf club, tennis racket, etc) is about $30. There are also recharging stations for the controllers and for the Fit, and I think they're about $20 for controllers, and $15 for the Fit (they all run on AAs and come with what you need to startup). The games (at GameStop) are anywhere from $15-60 or more, depending on what you add to them. DDR (with the pad) is about $70.
