  • Prevent Loose Skin?

Do any of you who have already lost a big chunk of weight know how to prevent loose skin?

I've only lost a small part of my weight so far, but I want to take steps NOW to make sure I don't have a bunch of stretched out skin when I get close to goal.

Is there a moisturizer or product that helps increase elasticity so that our skin will shrink back when the fat is gone from under it?

I know I sound like a broken record, but strength training is so important. I would aim for three times a week. Don't use barbie weights either! Go for the burn

I was curious as to how to do the actual dry brushing...here's something I found on You Tube. I'm not sure how great this is, but now it gives me a better idea:

            Re: Prevent Loose Skin?

I've heard about the dry brushing as well.......I wonder if it really works? I have to agree with TheDotAteMyName.......strength training is the key.
(I've watched the Biggest Loser, and they did alot of strength training, and I didn't see much lose skin on their results, even after 100+ weight loss.)

Dry brushing, water water water, weights, and I take an omega 3 (either flax seed oil or fish oil).

                  Re: Prevent Loose Skin?

Sadie, tell me more about this please! what was your goal going into it? what did you hope to accomplish? detox or skin results? how long before you felt you were getting results? I did not lose a ton of weight but between two pregnancies and gaining and losing the same 15-20 pounds over the years my stomach is stretched out and my thighs have excess skin on them. I have done crazy cardio, I have done strength training, I have lost weight just on atkins and there is never any change in how my stomach and thighs look. I'd love to think there is something more I can do about it!
