This is a weekend of picnics and parties which means we'll be bombarded by things we struggle so hard to resist. I have 2 picnics to contend with one today, Sunday and one tomorrow, Monday. My strategy for today is...eat my regular meals at home. My breakfast was just what I would have had normally, I plan to have a salad for lunch without protein because the picnic I'm going to at 2pm will have grilled meats galore so I can get my protein there. And, I offered to bring the deviled eggs because I knew I could have them if all else fails. Tomorrow's picnic will be a snap because it's at my son's and they know I'm doing locarb so no problem there.

Re: What's your holiday stragtegy?
This holiday and the Fourth of July are the easiest as far as I am concerned. There's always something Atkins friendly off the grill. I am BBQing beef back ribs with a dry Memphis rub and vinegar mop (all homemade and legal). I'm making cole slaw, fauxtato salad (made with turnips) and deviled eggs. I'm having strawberries and cream for desert. Mmmmmmmm what a 'diet'!!!!!!!!!!
Sunny!People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

Yeah, the grillin' holidays are the easiest.
Drink TONS of water and make sure you make some items you can eat.
I am really enjoying the strawberries and cream too!

Yum--Sunny, that sounds awesome!
We are having a backyard bonfire tonight--roasting hot dogs and marshmallows--obviously no marshmallows for me! Those won't be hard for me to say "no" to though. I'll have two hot dogs (no bun, just mustard), and guacamole scooped with jicama. There will also be cheese, and veggies and dip. All in all, plenty for me! Because there will be all of these yummy "legal" things I won't have any difficulty passing up the things that aren't good for me!
Tomorrow it's a grill out/bbq--lots of grilled meats, and I'm bringing a big green salad and deviled eggs, so again, enough yummy stuff for me that it should be easy to pass up the things that aren't good for me!
Plus the fact that I have on smaller jeans will help motivate me to keep on the right track!_________________________________________________

Re: What's your holiday stragtegy?
Well I work Monday so it's not a big deal for me. Saturday we went to a friends house to watch the hockey game (pitt and detroit) and they had all sorts of stuff that was bad. But bless the host's heart he made polish sausage and sauerkraut. Something legal! yay! I ate it very happily, I also discovered I like sauerkraut! Crazy!
