Question about BMR?

  • Question about BMR?

    How come the more weight you lose the smaller your BMR? For example, I weight 181 now and my BMR is about 1611, but if I typed in my goal weight my BMR becomes 1300-ish? Thanks!

    as you lose weight, it takes less calories to sustain you.

        Yep - and as you age, that number goes down, too. At age 48 and 120 pounds, my BMR is only 1245 now. I NEVER have trouble staying above that number.
