  • quick question...

i just had THE most DELICIOUS supper...i had 200 grams of fresh halibut, pan fried with 3-4 tbl sp. olive oil, 2 crushed garlic, 1tsp lemon juice, seasoned (no sugar) salt and seasoned (no sugar) pepper. then i mixed 1 tsp fresh onions and 2 tsp mayo in and wrapped a scoop into a lettuce leaf...so good mmmm....anyway, so my question is did i eat too much fat there??? if so, what do i do next???

any answers would be much appreciated

    Re: quick question...

Best thing to do is go to fitday.com and get an account (it's free) and plug in the food and it will show you the percentages! It is a very helpful tool. The percentages should be about 65% fat, 30% protein and 5% carbs. It doesn't hurt to go up to 70% fat...especially not in induction.

It doesn't sound like too much fat to me, actually, you did a great job of adding fat to a low fat meat!

        Sounds delicious!

no i don't believe you ate too much fat, although I suggest eat more that 200 grams. that sounds like a diet, atkins tells us to eat liberally.

thanks for all your replies.... i think it's because it tasted so good, i felt guilty...haha

            thanks again

Sounds delicious! You don't need to adhere to an exact number for each meal. This is what is so great about Atkins...just eat Once you get the hang of it those numbers will just happen and you'll eat certain percentages without even knowing it.

                  Re: quick question...

Another thing to take into account when calculating how much oil you ate is - did some oil get left in the pan or did it all get mixed in with the fish etc?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

                      Re: quick question...

It still most likely was not too much fat. I am assuming that you did not lick the pan! Even if you mixed up the oil with the fish, a lot of it would still be on the pan. Atkins is high fat and moderate protein. The fish is pretty low in fat and you only had 2 teaspoons mayo, so I think even a full 3 tablespoons olive oil would be about right. 200 grams of fish is 7 ounces and is plenty of protein.

Did you save any for us? That sounds delicious! Ain't it grand that Atkins food is so good that you feel like you must be cheating.
