      Re: Cinnamon

I've had all my cinnamon capsules and even cinnamon brewed into my coffee (yum) this morning and I can say I have not been hungry at all today. I ate because I need to stay on track with my meals, but I get satisfied quickly. This is not the usual case the day after I eat way too many black cherries--:whispers--like I did yesterday:.

      Sunny!

        Sunny!
        Greetings.

Well - it has been a few weeks for me. I take a caplet w/each meal - and I really think it helps. I've been using GNC's Cinnamon capsules. I take Alpha Lipolic Acid at the same time for the same reason. I recommend it. I think it really curbs my cravings.

If you are insulin resistant would that you make it harder for you to lose weight even on Atkins?

Yes, some very insulin resistant people can't even lose weight on strict induction. That's the only time Dr. Atkins suggests that a person do the fat fast. That's why you are supposed to follow the 14-day induction very carefully and compare your weight loss to the tables for metabolic resistance on page 158.

A lot of people think they are insulin resistant because they don't follow the plan correctly and stall or don't lose much weight on induction. The truth is that you can skew the results by not eating the correct amount of veggie carbs, not drinking enough water or eating things like bars and shakes with ingredients not on induction.

                Re: Cinnamon

                Thanks Sunny,

I am trying very hard on induction, it is a little difficult for me since my husband and I both work and use lunch as "date time" and eat out. I always go for salad, and most of the time grilled/blackened chicken but you never know what restaurants season with or put in these items. My other problem is Hubby is on with me so I have to keep dinner interesting since he really does not love meat and that means creativity on my part. I have succeeded this far and will continue to. Yesterday was a boiled egg for breakfast, celery and a mozzarella stick for snack, grilled chicken breast with bacon, cheddar cheese and jack cheese with a side salad for lunch, Sugar free jello for pm snack, shredded steak in au jus with a small bit of the atkins friendly (from our posts) brocolli salad. I also donated blood yesterday. I walk 1 mile twice a day on my 15 minute break with a friend, we are by no means setting any time record but at least we are out ther moving around.
I think I have hit a plateau but I am definitely going to work through it, I was just reading that if you have had gestinational diabetes you could possibly be insulin resistant and I was hoping for an easy way out.... I am the slacker type, many types think it must be the diet and not me. I will keep an eye on my diet though.. Thanks for the help
