  • your input needed

okay, i am going into day 20 of my extendend induction. my husband and i are taking kids to our monthly family day out. this is normally a meal at a restaurant and a movie. the restaurant of choice is sicily's pizza. if you are not aware of it it is a pizza buffet palace. they have limited selections besides pizza and salad. i love to eat meat with my meal; raised that way, i am from louisiana. how can i keep my composure and not go looney tunes on all the pizza, come yall help a sista out.

Order it with extra pepporoni and cheese. Eat the tops of the pizza and leave the crust.

i'd go for the salad first, fix a big ole salad and enjoy your time with your family. then if you have to have the pizza, scrape all the toppings off into your plate. try to get as little sauce as possible, as it may have some added sugars in it. oh yeah, and toss that pizza crust in the trash so that it doesn't tempt you. most toppings on pizzas are induction friendly, so that shouldn't be a problem. if their buffet does have some other limited induction friendly foods, by all means enjoy some. if not, then just walk away from it. most of all try to enjoy every moment you are spending with you family.

oh yeah, you might want to take a little snack bag of veggies to the movies with you so that you are not tempted by the popcorn. you could also make some pepperoni and cheese chips to take with you to snack on at the movies.

hope that helps, and you have a great time.

Watch how much cheese you intake as well as too much tomato sauce. Have fun. God Bless, Joe

I would eat a great salad to start. If you're still craving the pizza...eat the toppings off of a veggie pizza or whatever suits you. When I go to places like this I even take my own dressing in a sealed cup along with me. Sometimes I don't like restaurant dressings and won't eat my salad because of it. I've fixed that by taking in my own homemade dressing. When I'm in your shoes, I make a fabulous salad and use my own dressing and I'm so satisfied. I'll then eat the toppings off of a slice or two of pizza if I'm still hungry. I'm now into the mindset that it's about the people and not the food. I was so stuck on food and everything being about food before Atkins that I missed out on a lot of fun. Have a great time!

Also i make sure i eat something before i go like homemade akins friendly pizza. I also have taken a bowl with me and whipped it out of my purse (the kids were horrified) LOL. If i eat before i go then have a salad with everyone else i am o.k. but if i go when i am hungry forget it!!! Make yourself a big steak before you go !

Our kids also love our local pizza buffet. We both start with a salad and drink atleast 1 large glass of water before "pizza". However, all we have to do is ask and they make us crustless pizzas. They simply put toppings and cheese in a pan and run it through the oven. We go every Saturday as it is our family day out and we have never had a stall or weight gain problem from it.
