Over the last several years on this board I've frequently said something like "Hey, I know DANDR says no caffeine, but I lost weight drinking coffee". But I've been having lots of trouble getting induction to start.
I was wrong. Caffeine did matter. I didn't notice how much I'd been drinking!!
I cut my caffeine down to just one espresso (a doppio) in the morning and water the rest of the day ----and Voila - Weight came off. Figures. No withdrawal----no headache -----no biggie.
I was wrong. It matters - particularly if you're a big drinker like I was.

..I always ASSUMED it was because it was washed out by the high consumption of water..never thought that caffine could be the cause...wonder if other's have found this to be true?

So if you're thinking of cutting back on the caffeine, I think give it a shot and see how it goes! Remember the first week or so will be hard but try to work past it and I bet you'll be glad you did! If you need a pick me up in the morning try going for a walk or doing a bit of exercise before work. It has worked wonders for me and I've found that without caffeine I feel like I actually have more energy because it comes from exercise/eating right rather than chemicals. Good luck!
