  • Man who needs help

I am writing on behalf of my bf who is on day 5 of Induction. I have posted on the induction forum but I think he would really like to here from guys so I thought I would post here too.
He is 41 and his start weight is 330.
He is doing a clean induction, taking potassium, calcium and a multi vitamin. He drinks lots of water.
He is absolutely exhausted and feels like he has been run over by a truck. He is falling asleep every couple of hours and I have to wake him up after an hour.
I went through induction 6 weeks ago and had the same thing but it was my second induction so I was ready.
As he has never done this he is having a hard time.

Please could you post suggestions or just let him know it's normal cause it really does not say much in the book.

    Thanks

    Fennela

    Re: Man who needs help

My husband and I just went through induction together , we are on day 16. My husband never went through the exhaustion to that degree but I made sure he ate good amounts.
Is your bf eating enough food ?? Plenty of protein ?? I would just up his food a bit and see if that helps. That is one thing I made sure of when we went on plan is that he ate enough food, and enough fat too.
I sure hope he feels better soon, but it just might be he had a lot to clean out of his system and it is taking him some time.

Maybe he's a little too low on carbs. Try upping them just a little and see if that helps. Not too much though!

          Hi fennela.
Im 47 male 314 lbs and am on day 7 induction. I must say that I am feeling very tired too but most of all my legs ache like ive just done a 20 mile run. The only advice I can give is tell him to take some multi vitamins. My legs were feeling very achey on sunday took a couple of multi vitamin pills and it really seemed to make a difference.

            Re: Man who needs help

Hi Fennela, currently i am in week 16. Started @ 310lbs., age 51. Felt like i was run over by a truck for a couple weeks. BUT, the weight was coming off, slow but sure. A few weeks later i was down to 292. As time progressed a "high on life" feeling over came me and i knew this way of life was going to work for me! I definetly feel better, than i have felt in years. Takes time to undo the pizzas, ice cream, pop, and all the other junk we have been cramming down our throats for years and years. Your hubby will feel better in no time. Hope this helps?
