  • Guilty Conscience?

I'm on day 6 of Induction...and this isn't an induction question...I'm just wondering how many of you ever feel ....guilty? You know, about eating such amazing foods? I guess since I was on a diet my entire life, in my mind, eating delicious foods = love handles, saddle bags, cellulite....what have you....but I mean I just ate a lovely dinner and sat there thinking, this can't be right. So I go and plug in my menu for the day on Fitday, and sure enough, it is right. And, although I haven't weighed myself since day 1 (due to a dead battery on my scale, thank goodness) I feel fantastic and my pants are already loose, so I know it's working. Does anyone else feel like this? Somehow I just can't dissociate the feeling of satiety and alleviated hunger from gaining weight....Does this "guilt" ever dissipate? My goodness, this is phenomenal! And this is where I do the Homer Simpson "doh" .... why didn't I do this earlier?? Lol.

If all guilt were like this...bring on the guilt!!
Congrats on your loose feeling clothes. Awesome! It really does work, doesn't it? When you catch yourself feeling guilty, relax and transform the guilt into a celebration of the wonderful foods we can eat.

    Atkins rocks!!

Hi DesertRain, that is an interesting thought. Personally i did feel guilty, because i didnt know if this was going to work or not. Like you said, The food is great not just good. I was ignorant of this way of life, but thank you Dr. Atkins. It works! Not only am we getting thinner, we are getting healthier.

Desert Rain- Great post! I think a lot of people have experienced this at one point or another! Because we have been so pushed into a 'low fat is best' mind set that buying full fat mayonnaise or other things like that just feels wrong wrong wrong! After you do it for awhile though it starts to feel a lot more right! Especially after you realise how well you are doing! Congratulations on the loose clothes so far! Sounds like you are doing great!!

I so agree, the low fat way has been hammered into my head sooo much yes I do feel guilty adding butter to my vegetables and cream in my coffee. I now want to rush around telling everyone that they can eat well and get healthier and slimmer to, I see a large person in the supermarket buying low fat stuff and I want to walk up to them and say NO read this book and it could change your life.

              So true!
Low fat revolution had kicked mayo, butter, cream, full fat cheese, bacon, chicken and meat skin, tuna canned in oil, out of my kitchen!
Now we can enjoy super veggies "saute" with butter, avocado or eggs with tuna and mayo, eggs with bacon, spinach puree with cream, kebabs (lamp meat used to be forbidden!!), souvlaki (full fat pork meat on sticks).
It would be paradise if we could have chocolate as well!

That is so funny! I feel the same way! I find myself passing bigger people on the sidewalk or in the lift and I just want to tell them all about Atkins! They probably wouldn't appreciate it though!

LOL! Yes, perhaps that would be a decent plan if those of us who made goal carry "before" pictures in our wallets....I can't even imagine if someone came up to me at the market and said, "look I know how you can loose that extra junk in your trunk" hahahah I'd be devastated....However, I know exactly what you mean because I think like that too!

I can't believe all the good food, either!! I know it works, I had great success 2 years ago. It isn't just the good food and smaller sizes, its the way it makes you feel!! So good, its outstanding!! Keep up the good work!!
Try to get 80-100 ounces a day!

Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you're right.
