    Re: Greek yogurt

I've had the Fage full fat.....once....that's why I said I think only a few hours would have made it that thick....not the 24 hours I did it for It's the 24 hours that made it cream cheese thick....and my chickens LOVED the whey!

So, when I get to that rung, I can strain regular yogurt to get Greek yogurt?? I live in Northern Michigan and never even heard of it until ADBB.
Try to get 80-100 ounces a day!

Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you're right.

That's all it's supposed to be to make it "Greek" yogurt--strained and extra thick, but I think it tastes different. I have never liked regular yogurt, but when I tasted the Fage, I liked it. Regular yogurt tastes like spoiled milk to me and the Greek just tasted a little tart and sour. Of course, I have never tasted strained regular yogurt.
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

I thought my strained yogurt was less tart when it was done.

              Re: Greek yogurt

I think the whey has a sour taste after being drained from yogurt thus making the yogurt itself not so tart.
You can use the whey in cooking I think too.
