  • My typical daily food choices

Tell me whatcha think, I basically eat a variation of this every day but always the same breakfast and lunch (I'm induction):

Breakfast: 3 egg omelet (Using egglands best eggs) with scant few fresh spinach leaves and about 2 oz mozzarella or cheddar)

Lunch: Homemade chicken soup (Recipe from the Atkins book), make a huge pot per week to last the week.

Dinner: Boneless pork loin chop or some chicken broiled or george formaned with 1/2 cup blanched fresh broccoli.

For cooking fats I use Olive Oil and also take 1 Tablespoon flaxseed oil per day and 1 Centrum supplement, 1-2 Tablespoons Phsylium husks. Also about to start using digestive enzymes.

Well from experience if you want VERY good chicken soup ALWAYS simmer on a very low heat for a long time, dont boil the living **** out of it The flavor profile is amazing if you give it the love and patience all great cooking needs. A very good variation is adding ground ginger with eggs whisked with sesame oil, it makes an oriental egg drop soup sort of flavor.

I would say you seem weak in the veggie count unless there are a fair number in the soup. Maybe add some salad in there too.

Well, was going for a minimized carb yet high nutrition count at the same time for my extended induction, But I love spinach on that omelet so I have no probs upping the count to 3/4-1 cup in it.

You want to be as close to that 20 gr a day as you can be. Your soup sounds great though. I love the Asian soups--they always have a good dose of garlic and ginger in them. Mmmm

Re: My typical daily food choices

We're pretty much on the same page with breakfast. I'm also weak in the veggie department as others have mentioned regarding your menu.

The only other thing I would check is your fat intake. It seems like chicken is one of the more lean meats -- when I indulge in mostly chicken, my fat percentage tends to be too low. As cleochatra mentions in the comments of a recent blog post, this diet is more about fat then it is protein. I like to use FitDay.com (for now anyway) to make sure my percentages are close to par.

              Keep up the good work!

Re: My typical daily food choices

I wouldn't minimize my net carb counts for induction veggies at all. I'd get rid of other foods first (i.e. heavy cream) before not indulging in my veggies.

Your menu sounds delicious...the chicken soup is making me drool Which Atkins book did you get the recipe from?
