Why not try ground flax? You should start with a tablespoon (and lots of water, or it could have the opposite effect) and increase as necessary... no more than necessary though, until you get to the nuts & seeds rung. Flax is full of omega 3 too.
Dr A favours psillium but I don't know much about that I'm afraid.
Most people here go with flax as you can "do" lots with it. My favs are microwaved flax crackers, which are just flax, water and a bit of grated parmesan cheese. Spread it all on a piece of baking parchment and microwave until nearly set. Make dividing lines with a knife, then microwave again until crispy. Nice to have a base to put a piece of cheese on.

Make sure you're drinking enough water to process the fiber that you're taking in as well. Fiber without the proper amount of water is akin to pouring cement into your intestinal tract
