I did 52:30, I havent been running as much as I would like and I am a bit suprised that i did the 4 miles at 13 minute mile pace. I am happy but today i am totally sore.

Congrats on your 4-mile run! How long did it take you to get up to a 4-mile distance? Have you always been a runner?

I'm looking forward to doing that distance again. I'm doing 2 miles now. I'm biking more 'cause it's easier for now. Have a great weekend! Heal up!

                          Re: Anyone near Cranford NJ?

Well I went through a time a few years back where I was running 3-4 times a week ... around 7 miles a pop. Stopped when I had my first child and am trying to get back into it. I havent trained for this at all so I am really hurting today.

Basically the trick for distance running is to walk/run/jog at the fastest pace you can AND still be able to hold a conversation.

This worked out almost perfectly as I did 13 minute miles for each of the 4 miles. 13 minute miles is for the most part a slowish jog. The hard part is to keep that up for 4 miles. The first mile was rough the second a little better ... I felt strong on the 3rd and the 4th was torture.

I am doing another race this weekend in Berkeley Heights ... can any of you make the that one ? It is a 5k
