  • Hello

I'm new to this site and find just browsing through the treads help. I have been an off and off atkins diet starter for years. I have studied by reading all of the books and studies and believe the diet is scientifically sound.
I am on the 3rd week of induction without any weight loss, ketone stick color change, or decrease in girth or change in the way my clothes fit. I exercise daily, drink the water and have even cut out the 3 packets of splenda and diet jello that I had been using. I weigh 198 and am 5'4". I have not used anything that was not on the induction diet and have kept an accurate account of the amounts.
    Could I be insulin resistant??

    Re: Hello

Since no one has answered, could you post your menu for a day, or a week if you can remember. Sounds like your doing it all right. But some have a few blind spots(me included) as to what is induction food and what is not. Hang in there, you will start losing soon

      Re: Hello

I am insulin resistant and this diet improved the condition by 100 % for me... I no longer have to take the metformin. You likely will have a much harder time losing weight on any other diet if you are IR. First thing that comes to mind is are you doing a low fat version of atkins? If you are then choose fattier meats etc. Also, if you aren't already start writing down what you are eating and post it here so we can take a look at it. Also, how much water are you drinking? 8 8 ounce glasses are not enough for some to flush the fat that you are burning.. myself included. Someone posted that we should drink 8 8 ounce glasses plus another 8 for each 25 pounds you need to lose. That works for me. HTH

        Re: Hello

Are you eating the Atkins Company Foods?? (bars, shakes, etc...)
Are you eating 65%fat, 30%protein, 5%carbs? Are you eating your 3 cups veggies daily? These factors are very important. I agree, post a days menu for us. I am sure someone here can help you.
Try to get 80-100 ounces a day!

Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you're right.

If you'd like to post your daily menu with net carb amounts, I can take a look. (e.g. 1 cup Romaine....0.2).
