  • New please help

    This is my first post and honestly wanting help. I was recently diagnosed with Lupus and fibromyalgia and my weight plays a huge factor in this.

    Today is day 7 for me, and I started out at 231 and today Im at 224.5. Im excited, but I see on most of the threads of people losing more and I want to know what Im doing wrong.

    Im hoping Im on the right track...I need some serious help to make the pain go away...

    welcome to this wonderful way of life. i'm sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with these afflictions.

    6.5 lbs is great for the first week. everyone is different and some may lose more, but your loss is nothing to sneeze at.

    before any advice can really be given, could you give a little info.
    IE: height, goal weight, and an example of your daily menu.
    also, are you drinking enough water, should be having 8 8oz glasses of water plus 8 more ozs for every 25 lbs you need to lose. are you exercising?

    with a little extra info, we can better give you advice.

      Congratulations on the weight loss so far. You will find that as moniegail has said it comes off at a different rate for everyone. For every post you see telling about huge losses quickly, you will see two more saying, I'm not losing that fast what am I doing wrong, LOL.

      Moniegails advice was good. Posting menues for review will help, but for the loss you hae posted, you are probably doing it right.

      By the way,, be sure to visit Jimmie48's post further down the board for July members to post their weight loss. it applies to new people too. Last I checked we are only about 150 pounds shy of an all time record, so post your loss by the end of the month

        Yep, you may not be doing anything wrong. I am a very slow loser, but I am losing and in the big picture that's the important part. Not everyone loses at the same pace. You just can't make comparisons that way. I would have loved to have your loss the first week! Do post a menu and get the book and read it. And don't get discouraged if your meds mess things up. I know lupus meds can play havoc with diet sometimes. Wishing you health and an easy journey with this. I know it is not an easy condition to live with. (hug)

          Hiya Jen, we are all different therefore our weight losses are different. You are losing and that is what we seek. Stay strong and stay focused and you'll do fine. There will be a week where you will blow right by us. Have patience. God Bless,Joe

            In this lifestyle you will drive yourself crazy if you try to lose weight by comparison. Our bodies all work at different speeds and in different ways. I for one think you are doing AWESOME, keep up the good work.

            Just remember whether you think you CAN or can't do it... YOU are right!

              just to be save jnbdavies you should talk to doctor's to change your diet.
              i know you can do it.
