Hello, I just recently started back on Atkins. I just completed induction. I've been eating Ultimate cheeseburgers and sausage sandwiches from JIB. Just mayo , cheese and meat. I've lost 8 lbs., but I've stalled. Is it ok to eat Jack In the Box cheese slices??? Thank you.

Re: Could Jack in the Box cheese slices be stalling me?
Hi and congrats on your decision to come back to Atkins!
I don't know whether or not it's the JIB food that's stalling you, but I do know that it's probably something you don't want to eat everyday, perhaps only as a treat, or in an emergency (when you have absolutely no choice). Although it seems as though everything you're eating is legal for Atkins, consider the fact that we can't read the labels on their foods thoroughly, so things like their cheese (which is probably processed) and their bacon, and mayo more than likely contain sugar. I really don't think that fast food chains would opt for the healthier, sugar-free, low carb version, you know what I mean? If you must have fast food, I suggest mustard instead of mayo, just to be safe. And if you can, try to prepare your own meals for the most part. I hope that helps, and by the way, congrats on a fabulous weight loss thus far!

I am curious. How long have you been stalled? Are you still losing inches? If so, it isn't a true stall and your body may just be adjusting. The sausage may also have enough sodium to make you retain water. In fact most fast food chains have too much sodium in everything, even their meats. I do find that any cheese is a staller for me if I eat too much. Gives you some places to start, anyway.

As you lose more, your body sometimes requires time to adjust to the new weight before moving on. A real stall is no loss of weight or inches for several weeks. It might just be an adjustment time for you, but there are a couple things you could try that have worked for some people. here are some possibilities...
1. try changing your exercise routine--shake things up with some high intensity intervals or a totally different activity.
2. up your water for a few days
3. move up a rung or try a whole different set of veggies for a few days
4. if you use caffeine and diet sodas, try eliminating them for a couple of days and see what happens. Also try cutting back on the cheese a bit.
Sometimes shaking things up temporarily will move things on. But if your body just needs some time to figure things out you may just have to be patient.

I agree--you should make your own---bacon and sausage cured with sugar and loaded with Nitrites (sodium) also there is no such thing as
American cheese--it's a process from corn syrup, milk and chemicals..
how many you eating? calories from these sandwiches is high---are you eating a salad with your meal? 2 cups salad and 1 cup veggies on induction--what is your reccommended caloric intake for your weight, age and activity level? mine is close to 2300--try to stay even with your number--also remember your percentages--use Fitday to try to achive
60% fat--30% protien--10% carbs
page 138--don't consume excess quantities of protein--when eaten to excess--protein converts to glucose.Male/46

Darth, I am assuming you are eating JIB for lunches and are having your required veggies with your dinner. If not, the lack of veggies could be holding you up. Many people get a whoosh when they up the veggies. There is no real explanation of why, but it does seem to work that way for many people here.

According to the JIB website, their American & Swiss cheese have 1 carb per slice, which is ok, up to 3-4 oz (or slices) per day.
The hamburger patty in regular and jumbo size is just beef & salt, but the sausage has sugar.
The ingredient list for JIB is here:

Wow, the mayo' has high fructose corn syrup and the sausage has sugar. Thanks a lot for that. That is probably it. I will also take the advice of the rest of you. I am going to start preparing my own meals so that there is no more chances on making mistakes. Thanks everyone. I really appreciate it.

Thanks for posting that website, Creek!Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
