  • what's your body shape? and where do you lose?

    Just wondering if this is fairly consistant, and thought it might make an interesting thread.

    I'm a pear/triangle shape, and I lose fat first and foremost in my stomach and butt.

    have the hardest time with upper arms, love handles, inner thighs, and above the knee.

    I suppose I would be classified as an apple (but I prefer meatball on this WOE!) with all the weight around the middle/abdominal area. The most frustrating part about losing while still at a relatively high weight is that I seem to lose proportionately all over so that you don't really see a change in my overall appearance -- I'm just a smaller clone of the old me!

      haha, yeah, i feel the same way. i wrote in my journal that i just feel like a smaller version of the same flabby pear.

        I'm the basic hourglass shape with very little hips and butt and big thighs and lower legs and ankles. Okay, my 'shape' defies description! I lose first in my face, butt and tummy. I don't mind the face and tummy, but I don't have a butt to start with, so it gets even more painful to sit on hard chairs. I recently had to have a second breast reduction to get rid of the top part of the hourglass. Dumb man doctor still left me with way too much.

          I am actually built like a fridge... at my heaviest I was like a barel on sausages, now I am getting some shape, a touch of a smaller waist. I have always had a large midsection, but I seem to be losing proportionally. I am however pretty close to walking around on pencils. I have lost alot of fat on my legs in exchange for muscle.

          I learned a long time ago that one theory of loss on Atkins is that the weight comes off in layers... and that is definitely true in my case. I can't wait to be at a weight where I can really see the efforts of my weight training and where I can then focus on sculpting.

            Kathy, that's very interesting! I would love to hear or read more about that! What exactly did they mean by layers? Glad to hear you're doing so well!


            I am an hourglass shape, but I've got a behind like a rhino. I tend to lose weight first in my face then my tummy, however this time around my breasts seem to be doing quite the disappearing number on me-- Sunny, maybe you and I can do some kind of trade off? LOL!

              I am an hourglass, but am tall (5'11) and fat lol. My weight sits mainly around my middle straight around to the hips. This is the crappy part because I do have a butt...you just can't tell when I'm at a high weight because my hips are bigger! How annoying. Anyway when I first lost weight it came off in the same order that it showed up in. I lose in my face first and around my middle and arms. But that last stubborn belly fat seems to be the very last step before I actually fall over and croak. I'm getting there though!!

                I think i'm hourglass.... i'm pretty proportioned, big tata's, thick middle & legs,not much of a butt, but i guess i got some hips.. when i lose i lose a lil all over not really all in one spot at first which makes it hard bc i dont feel like i losing bc to me i look the same. BUt this time around ppl have told me they could tell in my arms and face... but can the tummy go away.... i think i'm losing the girls too but i could stand to lose a lil.

                  I am somewhere there around the circle - diamond area. Short with chunky legs.
                  I probably have lost most around the middle - I think I have a waist now and some of my behind is gone (for good I hope). I am down in pant size. My legs are still chunky and I have virtually lost nothing in the chest area. My tummy may be somewhat reduced but still sticking out. There are still a couple of rolls on my back.
                  Oh well.

                      I am only 4'11" and I carry it all from the buttom of my bust to the top of my pelvis. But only on the front (I literally have NO butt) and I don't carry much at all in my arms legs or hips. Oh and I have a double chin and I hope that's the first to go because you can't disguise that with clothing! I like to say I'm a potato with 4 toothpicks sticking out of it. I will be okay with my bust size as soon as the tummy is gone. I can stand to lose a bit there too though.

                        Well, I think I am an hourglass that has a lot of sand! LOL
                        I have a waist, but hips and a butt. I have small calves and fore arms, but huge thighs and upper arms. I used to have a huge double chin, but that is almost gone. My thighs look better, but my upper arms are still gross. I am going to have to get better hand weights, I'm afraid.

                          we're pretty much exactly the same! skinniest parts: forearms, calves, waist. worst: butt/thighs/hips/upper arms.

                            I guess I'm round...I've never really had much of a waist. Big upper arms, big boobs, big belly, NO butt, No hips, big upper thighs, and FANTASTIC calves. After that description, I bet you all wish you were shaped like me! lol! I have the hardest time buying pants--if they fit around the waist, I end up with a ton of loose fabric in the a**. Not a good look...When I lose weight, I just kind of shrink all over...face first. I never minded having chubby cheeks. Too bad it couldn't be belly first...

                              I am a classic pear. I am two sizes smaller on top than on the bottom. And my legs are heavy all the way to the cankles. I lose in the face and boobs first, although I wish MY boobs would stick around but they don't. Then uper abs and back. The heaviest parts go last, especially the calves which will, alas, never be small.
