  • I really really need help with Pre-Maintenance and Maintenance.

So far, I've been doing well with everything. I am comfortable at the weight I am at now but I would just like to be able to keep it that way.

This is pretty much my daily menu:

    Breakfast:
3 Scrambled Eggs with slice of cheese

    Lunch:
Chicken Salad with onions and pickles

    Dinner:
    Eggs again or a salad.

I've read the book but how do I slowly add some carbs back?
So far I've added like 2 tablespoons of peanut butter during the day.

You might find it more structured to climb the 'OWL carb ladder' which means adding 5 net carbs of different foods according to the order Dr Atkins suggested.
    1 More induction-allowed veg
2 Dairy - milk, cottage cheese, yogurt etc
    3 Nuts/seeds
    4 Berries/melons except watermelon
    5 Lowcarb Alcohol
6 Legumes - soya beans, peanuts, pinto beans etc
7 Other fruits from rung 4
8 Other veg than rung 1
    9 Whole grains/rice

Dr Atkins suggested we do this while still in weightloss mode which makes it easier to tell if adding any foods are stopping weightloss, but you could use the 'blood sugar symptoms' listed to see how they affect your body.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Congrats on making it to your goal. Best of luck with the maintaining. You will have fun climbing the rungs!

We really tried to get you to move up the ladder during your weight loss. You were eating way too little for a still-growing young man. You're still 16, aren't you?

Since you have the book, read the whole chapter on OWL and follow it very carefully. You're all the way to maintenance without learning how to do this for life. You need to back up to OWL and start from there. Since you are still a young teen, you have to skip the low carb alcohol rung!

You've got a few years of growing to do, so you need to add some dairy and some more fat. Peanut butter is good and if you like olives and avocado, both give you real healthy fat & good carbs. Add some olive oil whenever you have a chance.

Your menu still doesn't look like you are eating enough. You don't eat enough of anything, especially veggie carbs and healthy fat.

        Sunny!
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.
