  • I didn't know where to post this:X Question about my scale.

I have had like 3scales in my house and it they never show an accurate weight. I intially figured well hey, Atleast it could give me an idea if I am losing but it goes between 217-238 And sometimes it goes 30lbs up wards and back. Anyone have this problem? I don't think its the scale maybe my floor is unbalanced. It gets me down when I see it bouncing weights around even if it isn't accurate. Its a Weight watchers scale which at the time was the best deal despite never having gone on WW. I've also had non electronic scales which still seem to fluctuate too! I would weigh at the doctors but I lost my insurance for a few months until I can reapply. Sometimes when I weight I just want to shoot the thing. Might make me feel better. :P

I use one scale (Thinner - it's digital) that I bought when I started this journey years ago... I don't move it, I don't bounce, sometimes I don't even breathe...

Anyway, I say use one scale to track, and perhaps you need a new one at that.

...i have a good scale, and even with it due to bloat etc. my weight will change. i 'gained' 3 lbs today as per the scale.

the scale is an indicator, but your monthly cycle, sodium intake etc will also alter things a bit.

I only weigh at the doctor's office on a weekly basis. Otherwise, I just measure myself. All scales lie

Re: I didn't know where to post this:X Question about my scale.

Gosh, I feel your pain. I've begged my DH to take mine out the gun range and show no mercy to it a few times---he's smart to ignore my request because I'd be grieving over the loss and money spent on the replacement.

I've had the spring loaded, digital, and visited the doctor to find out that none of them were even remotely close to the doctor scale...I wanted to say the doctor scales lied.

I finally just found one I could afford (that same WW scale you mentioned you have) and have stuck to that one this year. Amazingly, it's as accurate as the doctors scale (I just went a couple of weeks ago). I did learn that if the scale is showing a wide range of numbers----replace the battery. If that doesn't work after a week...shoot it . Seriously, it should help it you put a new battery in it. I know you probably don't move it around the floor or take it for a walk around the house (right?), so maybe that would help?

All else fails, maybe you can make friends with the secretary at the doctor's office and ask if you could just use their scale on a monthly basis to get a general idea of your weight.

And of course you know clothes are the best source of measure

I know this must be nerve wrecking for you. But, if I were you I would step on scales that's not in my house to see which number you keep coming up with, in order to get an idea of which scale at home could be the accurate one. I'm a scale person too, and I found that its best to only weigh yourself first thing in the morning after you used the bathroom, and allow your body a moment to settle the fluids within your body.

I have a scale that is possessed! It can fluctuate from 1-5lbs. in one day. I step on it once in the morning just for laughs! Seriously, go by the way your clothes are starting to fit. I am on week two of induction and I can already feel a difference.

I use one scale to track my progress. I even weigh myself in the same room each and every time. I weigh myself in the master bathroom. I'm so weird that I put the scale in the same place each time. It has to be on the second row from the entrance and the third tile from the left. It has to be that tile every time or else I discount the weight shown on the scale. I'm crazy, but at least I admit to it
