  • Have you noticed that you carry weight better at an older age?

When you get older do your body weight and clothes size suppose to change? At my current age and @ 170 lbs I wore a size 10 in pants. Ten years ago I wore a size 10 in pants @ 150 lbs. Just wondering. Because now when at 170 lbs. I look like I'm 150 lbs. Has anyone else experienced this? If so why is this?
    Thanks

I doubt that age is the primary factor. Fat and muscle ratios must be much more telling.

I could, at the same weight, be much trimmer if fitter and bearing more developed and toned muscle.

Now, with ageing comes muscle loss. Without hard work to maintain that toned muscle the flab of later years appears.

How you can look trimmer at a higher weight and age, I don't know.

People who have lost weight on a lowcarb WOE often seem to be slimmer at a higher weight than before they put on the weight!

Many posters on low-carb boards say that they are now wearing smaller sizes at a higher weight, maybe it is that they have lost fat which takes up more space then the muscle they might have replaced it with?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Perhaps it's different for men and women, and different depending how far up the obesity curve you are.

I am about three pounds heaver than my lowest, but the same shape. Can only be more muscle from more exercise.

Elizellen, I think you're right my Dear. I agree with your findings and I sure appreciate you posting it here, because I didn't want to feel as if I'm suffering from wishful thinking . It makes perfect sense.

Yes, I do believe the reason we're different is because of how women were designed to hold more fat while pregnant in case food runs low her body would feed off of itself of the fat. Come to think of it our ancestors consumed a lot of meat (protein) and fats, thus they were leaner. Just a thought.
