  • Thanks Kent!

    Hi Kent,

I want to thank you for the videos. I started Atkins over an over and failed, even today I failed when restarting. However after seeing your video I have renewed energy! Your story sounds similar in ways to mine. I was in the Guard also but was discharged for being overweight. We even have the same birthday (I was born in 1975).

This morning I was feeling really down. I went out to lunch and got junk. As I came back to my desk at work I felt horrible. Then I saw your story on here and went to YouTube and saw your intro video. It was amazing! I could see myself in your story. After watching several videos I went outside for a walk and had a talk with myself. I looked at the positive.

So I left my pity party and am now joining the Atkins party. I already feel better and know that I can do this! I want to be healthy. I want to be back in the Guard. I want to just not be dragging around 150lbs of fat with me everywhere I go.

So thanks Kent for the videos, the story, and everything. I am taking charge am going to someday make my video on YouTube

    Re: Thanks Kent!

You are very welcome. I felt the same as you on my way down, but I was lucky enough to have people here to help and inspire me. If I did the same for you, I am just paying back the favor. It feels so much better being able to right the wrongs or the failures of past lives. If you are like me, I dreamed of being back in the Guard or being back with my platoon.

Since I rejoined, the recollections are much better. I no longer have to wonder "what if?" The question became "what else?", and then I knew I was back in control of my life and not like you said a slave to dragging the 150lbs of fat around. With that attitude in your post, I know you are going to be a success story as well.

      Re: Thanks Kent!

The only memories I have were of my BDUs getting tighter, the tape test and the horrible AFPT. While it was my fault for everything that happened in the Guard, when I get back in if I see someone like I was I am going to do all I can to help them.

      Thanks again Kent!
